The Big Bash League is the upcoming new cricket competition that begins in December 2011 and plays through to 2012. The tournament will replace the KFC Twenty20 Big Bash  making it the new domestic t20 Australian competition with the hopes of attracting an audience as big as the AFL and NRL matches.
The cricket competition will feature eight new Big Bash teams: the Adelaide Strikers, Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars, Perth Scorchers, Sydney Sixers and Syndey Thunder; all will battle it out to play the Champions League Twenty20 .
Many cricket players will be coming out of retirement, like Shane Warne, to form the Big Bash teams. They’ll also be a maximum of two international players which has already promised to bring in the crowds.
