2012 AFL Grand Final Preview
Hawthorn Hawks (1) v Sydney Swans (3)

MCG, Saturday 29 September 2012, 2.30pm (EST)
The Hawks and Swans go head to head in the 2012 AFL Grand Final after coming through Preliminary Finals against the Crows and ‘Pies respectively last week. The Swans on Friday night were relentless against Collingwood, at one point they led the match by 42 points before a late ‘Pies rally left the final margin 4 goals. Hawthorn and Adelaide played cracking match at the MCG on Saturday night, the lead changed numerous times in the last quarter before Hawthorn sealed the win late on by just 5 points.
Going into this match Hawthorn are deserved favourites, as the week progresses they are being backed even more with the bookies increasing the line in favour of the Swans a couple of times already. The Hawks have been Flag favourites for most of the year and finished up with the Minor Premiership with 14 wins in their last 15 games. The Hawks last loss came in round 19, a 2 point loss to the Cats in a match that is still regarded as the match of the season so far.
This weekend sees the 2012 AFL Preliminary Finals get underway with Sydney hosting Collingwood at ANZ Stadium on Friday night. On Saturday, Hawthorn host Adelaide in a twilight match the other place in the Grand Final next weekend.

They only let the Crows score 5 goals and while that can be put down to some awful kicking from the Crows, the Swans put them under enough pressure to put them off their game.
The 2012 AFL Finals have finally arrived and what a cracking first week of matches we have in store with 2 qualifying finals and 2 elimination finals. We kick things off with a top 4 clash between the Hawks and ‘Pies. 1 vs 4 on the ladder and a week off is up for grabs [...]
